Celebrate Black History Month at the Wayne County Public Library!
The Wayne County Public Library is proud to host its first Black History Month Creative Writing Contest! The contest is open to 4th-6th graders and 7th-10th graders. Participants can express themselves in any creatively written form (poetry, essay, prose, rap/rhyme, etc.) on the theme “Celebrating the Tuskegee Experience”. Winners will have the opportunity to share their work at our “Celebrating the Tuskegee Experience” program on Thursday, February 28th at 7pm which will feature a special discussion lead by members of the Wilson V. Eagleson Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen from Wayne County and surrounding areas. The public is invited to attend and witness living history! An overall winner will receive an IPOD shuffle! The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 15th. Winners will be announced the following week.
