Intro Course Set for Food Service Workers

Wayne Community College Continuing Education will offer a "Basic Food Service I" course 3-6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 8 through May 1 at the WAGES Building, 601 Royall Ave. in Goldsboro.

This course provides students with a working knowledge and skill in basic cooking, baking, sanitation, and sales. It introduces the elements of food service management, stresses the composition of the major forms of food service operations, and explores the supervisory tools of staffing, training, supervision, sales analysis, cost controls, and budgets.

Students may register and pay the $55 fee in advance at the Continuing Education Division’s customer service desk in the Walnut Building on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro or at the first class session.
