''Latinos and their Economic Impact on North Carolina''
LEARN MORE ABOUT:This presentation is an overview of the growth of Hispanics / Latinos in NC and its impact on the economy and workforce of our state. We review demographic, socioeconomic and cultural aspects of this growing population. We discuss a recent Hispanics economic study of the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Business and discuss briefly the U.S.-Mexico trade relationship in the context of the emerging globalization of our economy.
SPEAKER BIO:Mr. Axel Lluch was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He completed studies in Science and communications at the University of Puerto Rico and the State University of New York.
Lluch’s professional career includes executive experience in Human Resources and Sales/Marketing management with pharmaceuticals and consumer products companies. He traveled extensively within continental U.S.A., Central America and the Caribbean Region during his previous work experience. He relocated to North Carolina in 2002 to work in a top manufacturing company in Randolph County. As part of his commitment to community service he served as treasurer of the Randolph County Latino Coalition and member of the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity Committee. He was appointed Director of Hispanic/Latino Affairs for the Office of the Governor on March 2004.
