This presentation will contain the laws that govern North Carolina in regards to child labor, overtime and records employers are required to keep by law, who is exempt and who is not exempt from overtime.  Minimum wage, Youth Employment restrictions, and deductions from wages legal and illegal.  Also covered will be what the rights of employers are and the wage and hour rights of employees.

Rick Barnes, a field investigator for North Carolina Department of Labor will be the facilitator for this seminar.  He graduated from Fayetteville State University with a major in Business and a minor in History.  Prior to working with NCDOL, Rick was previously the Operations Manager for Lowes of Wilson from 89-98 and from 1998-2005 he was Co-Manager of 
Wal-Mart
Super center in Wilson. He has been in state government for 2 years.
